Kentucky Farm Share Coalition (KYFSC) is a community supported agriculture (CSA) program that helps farmers increase and stabilize their annual revenue while improving healthy food access for Kentuckians through partnerships for produce CSA. KYFSC encourages any Kentucky farmers curious about OR currently raising produce for CSA to explore ways to join the coalition, take advantage of member benefits, and engage in the KYFSC community!

MEMBERSHIP TYPES

  The coalition strives to meet each farm's unique needs and offers three different membership levels to support farmers in varying stages of CSA production. Become a partner farm and gain access to specific membership benefits and a vibrant community of farmers!

Endorsed Farm

Endorsed Farms have 3+ years of experience running a produce CSA and are partner farms for KYFSC's workplace CSA voucher program.

Benefits for Endorsed Farms:

  • Gain access to new customers through KYFSC's workplace CSA programs.  

  • List farm's CSA pickup locations on the KYFSC Map for additional promotion. 

  • Receive an optional consultation to review CSA webpage and signup to improve CSA member experience. 

  • Utilize the benefits of Affiliated and Connected farms. 

Expectations for Endorsed Farms:

  • Share an interest in advancing CSA and organic farming practices across Kentucky. 

  • Be willing to participate in KYFSC workplace CSA programs.

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of CSA production experience. 

  • Offer a 20+ week produce share during the main CSA season.

  • Source 100% of the items in the produce share from Kentucky-based farms or 100 miles from the primary farm.

  • Be a Kentucky farm entity and sign up  and maintain an active Organic Association of Kentucky family farm annual membership.

NEW

Affiliated Farm

Affiliated farms offer a CSA program and do not wish to participate in workplace CSA voucher programs but still want to engage with the KYFSC community. 

Benefits for Affiliated Farms:

  • Receive additional advertising through the KYFSC partner farms webpage.

  • Enjoy a listing on the OAK Find-A-Farm Directory.

  • Get additional CSA member resources created by KYFSC staff.

  • Utilize the benefits of Connected Farms.

Expectations for Affiliated Farms:

  • Offer a produce CSA that is sourced from Kentucky-based farms.

  • Demonstrate an interest in strengthening the CSA marketplace and advancing the Kentucky regional food system through the KYFSC program.

  • Sign up and maintain an active Organic Association of Kentucky family farm annual membership.

NEW

Connected Farm

Connected farms do not currently sell their products through a produce CSA, but are interested in learning more and connecting with KYFSC partner farms.  

Benefits for Connected Farms:

  • Attend CSA-related farmer discussions and KYFSC events throughout the season. 

  • Connect with other coalition farms to explore possible market opportunities.

  • Receive one-on-one technical assistance from OAK organic production specialist and OAK technical assistance staff as needed.

Expectations for Connected Farms:

  • Express interest in or actively grow produce in Kentucky. 

  • Support advancing direct-to-consumer market channels.

  • Sign up and maintain any Organic Association of Kentucky annual membership type.
