Workplace CSA Program 

Bachman Auto Group is offering a workplace CSA (community supported agriculture) pickup with Barr Farms for the 2024 growing season. Employees interested in signing up for a bi-weekly or weekly vegetable or meat share can select the Bachman Auto Group CSA pickup to access local, certified organic produce and pasture-raised meats.

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

​

A local food subscription where members receive regular deliveries of seasonal produce (vegetables and some fruits) or meats for 24 weeks during the main growing season (May - October).

​

A model of buying food focused on building community. A participant pays for a share in advance and becomes an important part of the farm for the whole season.

​

A farm box or basket of in-season items grown by Kentucky farmers. The items in a share are harvested at their peak ripeness to maximize their flavor and quality.

 Sizes:

  • Small Share:  5-9 items per week. Good for households with 1-2 people who enjoy cooking a few times a week. Best for first time CSA members.               

  • Regular Share: 6-12 items per week. Good for households with 2-4 people who enjoy cooking several times a week.

  • Abundant Share: 10- 14 items or more per week. Good for larger households with 4 or more people who enjoy cooking most nights a week.

Customization:

  • CSA members receive an email each week from the farm with what's in season. Members review what's included in their pre-packed share and can make additional changes to the items  and add on other farm products prior to pickup. 

​

Pricing & Payment Options: ​

  • Members can choose to "Pay in full" or "Pay as they go". If you choose to pay as you go, you will be charged weekly from a card on file.

What to expect in a CSA share?
 
Members can look forward to a delicious diversity of produce throughout the season. Items change from week to week. Barr Farms grows over 40 different crops for their CSA and often varieties you can't access in the grocery store. Being a CSA member is a great way to try news foods and recipes. Look at the shares below to get an idea of what is harvested in different months of the CSA season.

Pick up your share at Bachman Auto Group (9800 Bluegrass Pkwy) every Tuesday or at a nearby community pick-up, or choose Louisville home delivery for an additional fee.

How to participate?

​​​

  • Sign up for a CSA share by May 10: All Bachman Auto Group employees can purchase a CSA share with Barr Farms and pick it up at work every Tuesday of the 24-week CSA season.

  • During the Season: Members will get a notification a few days before their pickup and can make changes to their box.
